My Work
Synthesis is a platform for human migration experts to find geo-spatial data and collaborate with other users. As the lead UX Researcher & Designer for this product, I was responsible for product discovery, user research and testing, and UX design.
AI-Schedule is a data-driven scheduling recommendation system for military personnel. The product helps planners assess and improve mission plans. I conducted several rounds of usability tests and implemented insights to overhaul its existing design.
Digi-Forms is an application to digitize safety forms for secure environments and create a searchable database. I spearheaded product definition efforts, developed features, and created iterative wireframes for the safety forms and database. I also built an interactive admin dashboard for users to analyze form analytics.
Vortex is a wargaming application to help military personnel assess situations, plan courses of action, and predict hostile movements over time. I created data visualizations and UI elements for this tool, contributing to its design system. I also conducted two rounds of usability testing.
I conducted doctoral research over 3 summers in Riace, Italy. Using surveys and interviews, I analyzed the famed Riace Model of Migration's success and eventual dissolution. I planned, coordinated, and conducted the entire research project, publishing some of my findings in my Master's thesis.
I worked as a contracted ethnographer with the PAST Foundation. In one contract, I used contextual inquiry to see how students utilized digital fabrication technologies in the classroom. In the second contract, I facilitated focus groups of school administrators to understand accessibility issues of remote education. For both contracts, I filed final reports to communicate insights to stakeholders.
This study on refugee integration and stress levels was my first time coordinating research and recruiting study participants. It also served as a foundation for my doctoral research. I wrote and administered quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews.
